Member engagement occurs
across a wide variety of shapes and forms. The summer meeting of the
Association’s Marketing & Business Development Network, scheduled for June
23 in Marlborough, will focus attention on three of these areas of engagement;
- Build and nourish member
loyalty by employing a community-focused rewards program;
- Discover new ways to
safeguard members from fraudulent activities;
- Promote your credit
union’s products and services via the world of geo-fencing.
Presenters will include Susan
Moran, regional VP with Buzz Points, a community-focused rewards and marketing
platform that weaves the concept of gamification into everyday spending habits.
Joining Susan will be Greg Schultz from Buzz Points and Craig Boivin from
UMassFive College Federal Credit Union, a user of the Buzz Points rewards and
marketing platform.
Buzz Points is engineered to
support local businesses and merchants, and to reward the customer for shopping
locally. The program builds community loyalty as well as loyalty to the
financial institution because consumers today like to work with organizations
that support local businesses.
Charlotte Whatley, VP of
Compliance at CCUA, will discuss the issues surrounding the current wave of ATM
skimming occurring throughout New England and ways to communicate and educate
members to avoid falling victim to these fraudulent practices.
Mame Conroy, account
executive with CBS Radio in Boston, will round out the panel of presenters with
a discussion on geo-fencing and many other techniques growing in use across the
social media spectrum that can be tapped to further enhance a credit union’s
effort to engage members and non-members alike.
The
meeting culminates with what’s expected to be an energetic Q&A session,
lunch and networking.
