Navigating the Cybersecurity Landscape
Cybersecurity is no longer just an IT problem: the entire financial institution must now be involved in addressing cybersecurity on a daily basis. But with so many changes in our industry, it can be difficult to remain vigilant and responsive. In this session, we will review the changing cybersecurity landscape, government initiatives and regulatory guidance updates that are impacting our industry. We will also discuss actions that every institution should be taking to prepare for a cyber incident.

The rise of Internet and mobile banking has changed the banking landscape significantly. These new delivery channels have provided immeasurable flexibility for your members, but also introduce new opportunities for fraud. In this session you will take a walk through actual Internet banking fraud cases to get a perspective on how the criminals operate.

Forensics: More Than Just Hard Drives

Digital forensics has grown to far more than just hard drive forensic analysis. In this session, Ron Bernier, Director of nDiscovery at Sage Data Security, will review a variety of current techniques in forensic analysis. Ron will cover hard drive forensics, as well as the ever-important practice of proactive network forensics. Rapid detection and response is critical in today's threat environment, and this session will introduce you to both pre- and post-incident forensics techniques.

Ron Bernier manages Sage’s nDiscovery practice. As the program’s original technical architect, Ron designs, maintains, and develops all components of the nDiscovery log analysis service. He has over fifteen years of experience in community and international banks within the information technology arena, with expertise in network and security design as well as information security. Ron is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and a Microsoft Certified Security Systems Engineer, MCSE/Security.

Caitlin Cantele
Team Lead, Advanced Banking Group

Caitlin is currently the Team Lead for the Advanced Banking Group at COCC where she played a key role in converting almost 100 financial institutions onto COCC’s online banking platform. She has extensive experience with COCC’s state-of-the-art online and mobile banking platforms as a result of her day-to-day support of these delivery channels. Caitlin has a Bachelor’s degree from Gettysburg College and has been with COCC for 4 years. 

Kevin Hamel
Chief Information Security Officer

Mr. Hamel is responsible for physical and cyber security as well as corporate risk management and governance. Mr. Hamel has over 20 years of experience in the financial sector focused on IT and cyber security.  Mr. Hamel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems plus a Masters’ degree in Business Administration.  He is a member of the CISO Executive Network, Infragard, FS-ISAC , the Mass Bankers Cyber Security Task Force, and the IT Advisory Board for Western New England University.  He works extensively with regulatory agencies and various federal law enforcement agencies such as the DHS and FBI.  Mr. Hamel is a frequent speaker on security topics and has a number of articles published in financial industry publications.
